Consideration of others
On cross-country skiing tracks, you shall act in a way so as not to endanger or injure anyone.
Signalling, cross-country skiing direction and technique
You shall observe all designations on the cross-country skiing polygon.If walking using snowshoes or performing cross-country skiing on a ski track, you shall make use of the appropriate technique and move in the designated direction.
Track selection
If the track is wide, you shall always move along its right side.If cross-country skiing in a group, you shall always move along the right side of the track and run one after the other.
Overtaking
You shall overtake either on the left or right side.The cross-country skiers that you catch up with shall not have to move aside.If they can, however, move aside safely, they should do so.
Cross-country skiing in opposite directions
If you run into a cross-country skier from the opposite direction, both shall move to the right.Seek to move aside safely and give priority to the cross-country skier coming from the opposite direction.
Position of cross-country ski poles
If overtaking, the poles shall be tucked against your body.
Adapting speed and safety distance
Especially in steep parts of the track, you shall adapt your speed and behaviour in compliance with your skills, conditions on the track, visibility and how crowded the track is. In particular during descents, you shall observe the safety distance between yourself and the cross-country skier directly in front of you.
Stopping
If you stop on the track, you shall move aside to the edge or undo your skis and leave the track. If you fall, you shall move away from the track as soon as possible.
Providing assistance
In case of an accident, everyone shall provide assistance.
Obligatory identification
All witnessing or participating in an accident on the track shall identify themselves by means of a piece of ID.
