Stationary health resort treatment admission procedure
In compliance with the insured person's insurance, the HIIS bears all standard accommodation and treatment costs. The implementation of the treatment method is subject to a HIIS commission decision granting health resort treatment.
Insured persons in possession of a HIIS decision granting stationary health resort treatment are notified in writing of their booked stay at the health resort and the starting date of their rehabilitation. Insured persons are usually admitted during the afternoon on the day before the rehabilitation programme is due to commence. On the day they arrive to the health resort, insured persons report to the reception of the hotel where they are provided with all instructions regarding their accommodation and the beginning of their rehabilitation programme.
The course of treatment and physiotherapy procedures are determined by a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation following admission and check-up of the patient. This procedure also includes a schedule of therapies throughout the entire rehabilitation process.
The insured person commences with the rehabilitation programme following the check-up in compliance with the schedule. The physiotherapist or physician shall be notified of any deviations from the expected progress made throughout the rehabilitation as soon as they appear. After the rehabilitation programme is completed, the insured person receives a rehabilitation or treatment medical report complete with joint flexibility measurements made at the beginning and end of the rehabilitation or treatment and, if needed and upon request, also isokinetic tests that define muscular strength. The insured person shall submit their discharge test results to their physician or operator.
Insured persons are accommodated in standard double rooms as granted by the HIIS or at the nursing unit. Single rooms or accommodation at a hotel of a higher rating are subject to a surcharge.
Please note the following during the admission process
Admission is subject to the following documentation:
- piece of identification, health insurance card and medical documentation,
- a report of your physician regarding the prescribed drug therapy,
- sports/swimming equipment,
- goodwill and desire for the rehabilitation to succeed.

Dispensary health resort treatment on the basis of a HIIS decision means that the accommodation costs at the health resort are not borne by the HIIS. The implementation of the treatment method is subject to a HIIS commission decision granting health resort treatment. Insured persons are admitted at Dispensary 1 in person or following a telephone call. You are advised to bring all medical documentation at your disposal. The course of treatment and physiotherapy procedures is determined by a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation following admission and check-up of the patient. This procedure also includes a schedule of therapies throughout the entire rehabilitation process.
HIIS covers physiotherapy service costs in compliance with a work order issued by a selected or authorised physician. Massages are not included in the programme. Dispensary physiotherapy is carried out subject to a work order, followed by an entry into the waiting list book and notification to the patient of when the dispensary physiotherapy is due to take place. As soon as dispensary physiotherapy begins, following admission by the physiotherapist and a health assessment, the physiotherapist determines the type of physiotherapy services to be performed for the insured person. You are advised to bring all medical documentation at your disposal.
